Getting there from College Green: Take bus number 48 from outside College Green. Alight at the Bali Lane bus stop (Bus stop B01549). Cut through Bali Lane to Arab Street and Baghdad Street.

 

Remarks: Anchored by the imposing and beautiful Sultan Mosque, the Arab Street district is an area of old shophouses with all manner of Middle Eastern cuisine, souvenirs, rugs, and embroidered fabrics. At night, jazz bars open up and shisha water pipe bars are popular with the young crowd. Haji Lane has become a popular hipster hangout, with twee little boutiques selling assorted fashion items and home-made ice-cream.

 

Arab Street is not far from Bugis Junction and only about a kilometer walk up North Bridge Road or Beach Road to Raffles City Shopping Centre.
