Getting there from College Green: Hop on the MRT at the Botanic Gardens Station (Circle Line CC19) towards HarbourFront.  Alight and change at Buona Vista Station (Circle Line CC22) to the East-West Line towards Joo Koon. Alight at Chinese Gardens Station (EW25).

Remarks: Another venerable theme park rarely visited by locals these days, the Chinese and Japanese Gardens are free for entry on weekdays and can sometimes be practically deserted. They are well-kept and beautiful and can be a good starting point for a day out in the western district of Jurong.

They are close to the IMM Outlet Mega-mall (see “shopping”) and two MRT stops away from the Jurong Point Mall (at Boon Lay Station EW26 – see “shopping”).
