IMMIGRATION MATERIAL

International students need to get a Student Pass (a residence permit) for pursuing full-time study in Singapore from the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA). Before coming to Singapore, a student needs to submit the application through the Studen's Pass On-Line Applicaction & Registration (SOLAR) system with the help of the LKYSPP. On arrival in Singapore, a student needs to get the Student Pass within 30 days. Before going to ICA Building, students are advised to get an appointment with the ICA by filling up the online eForm 16. A student needs to bring below documents for visiting ICA for student pass:

 

  • The student’s valid passport. A copy of the passport particulars page;

  • The Disembarkation/Embarkation card of the student, granted on entry into Singapore. If the student is currently residing in Singapore on other long term passes, he/she is required to bring along that pass;

  • One recent colour passport-sized photograph (taken on white background);

  • The printout of eForm 16 submitted through SOLAR (duly signed by the applicant);

  • A copy of the in-principle approval letter; and

  • A medical report in the prescribed format (available on ICA’s website).

ICA formalities for Student’s family members

 

If a student intends to bring his/her family to Singapore, they have to follow the same ICA procedure upon getting approval from the LKYSPP.

 

Fees

 

S$30 Processing Fee

For the application of Student's Pass, a processing fee of S$30 will be collected at the time of submission.  For submission via SOLAR, payment need to be done by credit/debit card or internet banking.

 

S$60 Issuance Fee

For the Student Pass to be issued, an issuance fee of S$60 will be collected.  The fee will be collected at the time of physical application at ICA. Similarly, payment needs to be done by credit/debit card or internet banking.

How to get to the ICA Building:

 

By MRT: A student can to go to the ICA located at Lavender MRT Station.  From College Green, a student first needs to take the Circle Line MRT from the Botanic Garden MRT station to Paya Lebar Station (CC9) and then change to East West (EW) Line towards Joo Koon. Alight at Lavender Station (EW11). The ICA Building is just outside the station.

Q-Tickets Issuing Hours:

 

For Student Pass and Immigration services, an applicant first needs to get Queue ticket from the ICA Building. The Q-tickets are available: Weekdays 8.00 am to 4.30 pm; Saturdays 8.00 am to 12.30 pm
