Getting there from College Green: Hop on the MRT at the Botanic Gardens Station (Circle Line CC19) towards Dhoby Gaut (The “8” Train). Alight at Brash Basah Station (CC2). Walk up the entire length of Waterloo Street until you reach the pedestrian-only part with the two temples on your left.

Remarks: With an Indian (the Sri Krishnan Temple) and a Chinese Buddhist (the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple) house of worship side-by-side, the Waterloo temples are an eye-opener to the easy, casual multi-religious, multi-cultural aspect of Singapore society. The temples are crowded all day and night and the streets are filled with flower and incense vendors.

Just 50 metres past the Chinese temple is the Bencoolen Link pedestrian shopping district which leads to Bugis Village and Bugis Junction with tons of shopping opportunities.

The Waterloo Street Temples and Bugis Village can be combined in a day trip with the National Museum of Singapore and the Singapore Art Museum, both of which are also adjacent to the Bras Basah MRT station.
