Getting there from College Green: Hop on the MRT at the Botanic Gardens Station (Circle Line CC19) towards Dhoby Gaut (The “8” Train). Alight at Bras Basah Station (CC2). The Singapore Art Museum is just outside the station. The National Museum is across the campus of the Singapore Management University (SMU) and Stamford Road.

Remarks: Singapore’s two premier Museums, the National Museum houses artifacts related to the early history of Singapore and its people, while the Singapore Art Museum carries pieces (mostly contemporary) by local and regional artists.

Both museums are very centrally located close to the Waterloo Street temples, Bugis Village (for shopping), Raffles City (shopping again) and Orchard Road (shopping yet again).

Opening hours, fees and special events can be found at the Museums’ respective websites.
